Dolphins CEO Delighted with NRL Recognition and Prime-Time Scheduling
Dolphins CEO Terry Reader has expressed his delight with the NRL’s recognition of the club’s growing popularity, as evidenced by their prime-time scheduling for the 2025 season. The Dolphins have been awarded 12 games on Channel 9, just one fewer than their cross-town rivals, the Brisbane Broncos.
Broncos Demoted from Prime-Time Spot
In a significant move, the NRL has demoted the Broncos from their traditional Friday night prime-time spot for Magic Round in 2025. Instead, the Dolphins will face the Roosters in the prime-time slot, marking the first time the Broncos have been bumped from this spot in the six-year history of Magic Round.
Dolphins’ Growing Popularity Recognized
The NRL’s decision to give the Dolphins more prime-time spots is a testament to the club’s growing popularity in Queensland. The Dolphins have become a significant drawcard in the state, and the NRL is taking notice. Seven of the Dolphins’ home games will be played at Suncorp Stadium on free-to-air TV on Thursday or Friday night in prime-time.
Reader Praises NRL’s Recognition
Dolphins CEO Terry Reader praised the NRL’s recognition of the club’s growth, saying, “We couldn’t be happier with the draw we have. It’s going to be fantastic for our members and fans to get along to some of our biggest games in the league.” Reader also described the Dolphins being handed the Friday night spot for Magic Round as a “wonderful endorsement.”
