Brendan Rodgers Strange Celtic Feeling

Celtic returned to winning ways at Parkhead on Saturday afternoon. Goals from Kyogo and Liam Scales ensured that all three points remained in Glasgow’s east end and Livingston came away with nothing.

It was an encouraging performance from the champions, but manager Brendan Rodgers admitted things felt strange for his side on the losing streak: “As a Celtic manager, it felt strange to be in that position,” he said (BBC Sportsound, Daily Record). “But you have to answer and you can talk on the pitch and I think the players did that very well today.”

Ahead of this weekend’s game, many Celtic players have been criticized for their past performances. They put that behind them though and responded well against the Lions. The intensity of their game was much stronger than against Hearts and the Hoops created a number of chances. The 2-0 final score was perhaps an unfair reflection of how things went as the home side completely dominated the match.

Livingston was unable to score the entire game and was benched for the half. It certainly affected the Celtics’ dominance, but nothing should be taken away from the win and the performance, which was hugely encouraging going forward.
