BREAKING NEWS: Seven Players To Be benched as Steelers play Against Seahawks

Pittsburgh — Seven players for the Pittsburgh Steelers are out of the lineup for their Week 17 matchup with the Seattle Seahawks. The following players will not be playing in Seattle: defensive tackle DeMarvin Leal, inside linebacker Elandon Roberts (neck), safety Trenton Thompson (knee), quarterback Kenny Pickett (ankle), cornerback Darius Rush (knee), and offensive tackle Dylan Cook.

Prior to the weekend, Fitzpatrick, Roberts, and Thompson were all declared out with injuries. Fitzpatrick and Thompson were hoping to make a comeback this week, but they were unable to view enough, or any, of the field in time for Fitzpatrick to play after being absent the previous week.
Roberts says, “don’t count me out,” for Week 18 against the Baltimore Ravens, and he hopes to return the following week. Pickett will miss his fourth consecutive game following surgery for a sprained high ankle. The Steelers have chosen to rule out their previous starter despite the fact that he is still questionable and is only in his second week of practice.

With Mitch Trubisky serving as his backup, Mason Rudolph is expected to make his second start. Rush, Cook, and Leal have all missed some or all of the games in 2023 due to injury.
