Leeds United handed Jack Clarke boost
After a stellar season in the Championship last time out, it is no surprise that Sunderland would want to tie him down to a new contract.
15 goals and four assists across 40 league appearances was a great return for a side that struggled under multiple different managers.
He has begun the new season in the North East but Alan Nixon reported on 18 August that the Black Cats have failed to make him an improved contract offer that “appeals to his camp”.
This could allow the Whites to step in and take advantage of the uncertainty around his situation to add to their forward options.
Farke already has positive options in wide areas with Dan James and Wilfried Gnonto but bringing Clarke in would be a great addition.
The Englishman is a direct goal threat, loving to cut in and get a shot away which is often hard for the opposition goalkeeper to deal with.
It would be interesting to see how he would fit back in at Elland Road but there is no doubt he could prove to be an instant fan favourite.
