Breaking News: Leeds united just made the move for former Leicester City Star…

This week Leeds United announced the signing of Josuha Guilavogui to ease their midfield situation after injuries to Ethan Ampadu and Ilia Gruev.

The Frenchman arrives as a free agent to ease the pressure on impressive duo Ao Tanaka and Joe Rothwell. The former VfL Wolfsburg and Atletico Madrid midfielder seems delighted to be at Elland Road.

“Sometimes in life you have some opportunities and you don’t want to miss it. I am really happy to be here,” he said on the club’s website.

“When I spoke with our manager, he knows what I can bring on the pitch and also outside the pitch, because we don’t forget that we have injured players and I am there to help them. And when they will recover, I will also help the young players.

“That is why I was captain, like everywhere where I played, because I am someone that is always thinking about how can I make my teammates better, how can I improve. I am here for helping the team and I really hope that we will go to the Premier League.

“It is always better to jump in the team when they are winning and I was there for the game against Sheffield United and it was a really amazing performance. They had no chance and we could have scored more than two goals. So, yeah, it is a really good feeling.”

However, it has now emerged that Leeds considered a move for a different free agent.

According to the Daily Mail and The 72, Leeds United had made a move for former Leicester City midfielder Matty James. The 33-year-old started his career at Manchester United before two loan spells at Preston North-End prior to joining the Foxes in 2012. He  spent nine years there making 101 appearances in between loan moves to Barnsley and Coventry City before joining Bristol City in 2021 making 100 appearances.

A free agent, he was considered by Leeds but they elected to move for the Frenchman and James instead will now join Wrexham, backed by Hollywood stars like Ryan Reynolds.
