No doubt, LeBron has a great affection for Cleveland.
Over the course of his lengthy and remarkable career, LeBron James has received a record 13 selections to the All-NBA 1st Team. That is the total number of First Team appearances that Wilt Chamberlain and Kevin Durant have made together. It’s evidence of LeBron’s incredible tenacity and his consistent performance during the course of a two-decade career that has seen him win four MVP awards, four NBA titles, and close to 40,000 points.
Myles Garrett is not only a player for LeBron James’ home team, the Cleveland Browns, but he is also a client of Klutch Sports, the sports agency that LeBron’s best friend Rich Paul founded. For these reasons, it’s not surprising that LeBron would be happy to send some love from Los Angeles back east to Cleveland. LeBron notes this in the congratulations message.
This marks the third time in Myles Garrett’s seven year career that he’s been chosen a 1st Team All-Pro, and he’s also a two-time 2nd Team All-Pro as well. There has been a strong push for Garrett to win Defensive Player of the Year this year, and even in a season where there are plenty of deserving contenders, if he did, it would be well-earned.
According to Pro Football Focus, Myles Garrett had the highest grade of any edge rusher, and the eye test revealed that he was among the league’s most, if not the most, influential defensive player this season.
