Barcelona are believed to be providing stiff competition with Newcastle United for the signing of a “fantastic” player this summer, according to a new transfer update.
Newcastle transfer news
Newcastle United faces financial constraints, needing to adhere to Profit and Sustainability (PSR) rules. However, this doesn’t preclude them from making strategic signings.
The club seems inclined to target Premier League players, aiming to bolster their squad with individuals experienced in the division. Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi and Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite are among the players linked to a move to St James’ Park, with competition from top clubs like Real Madrid, Manchester City, and Manchester United for Branthwaite’s signature.
Additionally, Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White is a midfield option, though Tottenham is also interested in securing his services.
Looking beyond the Premier League, Newcastle appears to be leading the race to sign Sporting CP’s central defender Ousmane Diomande, who has been a subject of transfer speculation for some time, alongside teammate Goncalo Inacio.
