Aston Villa offers Ross Barkley a three-year contract, enticing him with Champions League football after his impressive season at Luton.

Aston Villa is vying to secure Ross Barkley with a three-year contract, aiming to lure him away from Luton Town where he showcased a reinvigorated form.

At 30 years old, Barkley has piqued the interest of several Premier League clubs following his standout season at Luton. However, Villa, under the helm of Unai Emery, can sweeten the deal by offering a return to Champions League football.

While Villa has their sights set on Barkley, they also have their eye on other potential signings, including Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher and free agent Mario Hermoso from Atletico Madrid. Conversely, Chelsea remains keen on retaining their striker John Duran, while Philippe Coutinho is being pursued by Vasco de Gama.

Barkley’s performance at Luton was stellar, tallying five goals and four assists in the Premier League, despite Luton’s relegation from the top flight. This season marked a personal triumph for Barkley, who previously had a loan spell at Villa in the 2020-21 season as a Chelsea player, where he played 24 games and scored three goals.

Having begun his career at Everton, Barkley made his move to Chelsea in 2018 before venturing to Nice in 2022, ultimately landing at Luton last summer. With 33 caps for England, his last appearance for the national team dates back to 2019.
