Speaking about his former Manchester United colleague Angel Gomes, Anthony Elanga has nothing but praise for the midfield player.

The England U21 international, however, ran out of time at Old Trafford and moved to Lille on a free transfer in August 2020, turning down offers from Arsenal as well.

Gomes has had another fantastic season for Lille thus far, making 35 appearances in all competitions, tallying two goals and dishing out seven assists.
To be fair to Manchester United, Gomes wasn’t exactly actively cut by the Red Devils.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and others at Old Trafford were reportedly hopeful that the 23-year-old would sign a new contract that Manchester United put on the table.
Gomes, according to Sky Sports, felt that the “numbers did not add up” and chose to relocate to France in order to take on a new challenge in his career.
