A former Sunderland loan player has strongly criticized the club over their ongoing managerial issues.
Sunderland has now gone over four months without appointing a new manager. The club dismissed Michael Beale on February 19th, 2024, and appointed Mike Dodds as the interim manager until the summer.
Since then, it seems that Sunderland owner Kyril Louis-Dreyfus has missed out on several top candidates for the managerial position.
Will Still was the top choice for the role at the Stadium of Light. However, after reportedly agreeing to take over from Beale, Still ended up securing the RC Lens job.
Liam Rosenior was then in line for further discussions before he too withdrew from consideration, leaving Sunderland in a difficult position in their search for a new manager.
Both Louis-Dreyfus and sporting director Kristjaan Speakman have faced significant criticism for their handling of the club’s managerial situation.
Fans have expressed their frustrations online, and now former Sunderland loan player Alan Hutton has also voiced his opinion on the matter.
