Guard Coby White, a breakout player for the Bulls, may be forced to miss tomorrow’s game against the Clippers.
DeMar DeRozan’s heroics were a big factor in the Chicago Bulls’ victory over the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday night, who are also in the division. With five seconds remaining in the fourth quarter, Coby White left the game due to an injury he sustained after Pascal Siakam landed hard on him during a tough chasedown block. DeRozan responded with a season-high 46 points in a 132-129 victory.
White did not come back into the game. He finished with 15 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists, which was just enough to hold the Bulls at bay until they won in OT. Unfortunately, the Bulls are just advised to take it easy as they have a game against the Los Angeles Clippers set for tomorrow night.
But Coby White’s availability for that match is still questionable because head coach Billy Donovan disclosed that the Bulls guard sustained a hip injury after Siakam collided with him directly, forcing him to perform the splits. As reported by K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago, Donovan stated that White will be subjected to more testing in order to ascertain the extent of his injuries.
The good news is that Johnson claims the Bulls guard is “in good spirits” in the locker room following their thrilling victory over the Pacers. He was observed “laughing with teammates and smiling.”
Has the Most Improved Player campaign for Bulls guard Coby White been postponed?
After agreeing to a three-year, $36 million contract with the Bulls in the offseason, Coby White has improved throughout the 2023–24 season. White has paid off for the team’s belief in him by averaging 19.5 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 5.2 assists on 45/39/84 shooting splits, making him the starting point guard. The best part is that White has played in every one of Chicago’s 66 games this season, starting every one of them. He has not missed a single game for the Bulls.
White appeared to have suffered a really painful injury, though. There’s a good probability the Bulls will hold White out of prudence given the short time between their games in this back-to-back set.
