A new transfer update prompts John Lundstram to inform Rangers that he want to leave Ibrox.

The Turkish news source claims on their website (April 19) that the Hers intend to offer him a new contract so he may remain with the team for the upcoming season as a member of Philippe Clement’s squad.

However, after failing to reach an agreement with the 30-year-old midfielder amid rumors that a deal was imminent, he has since declared his desire for a “new adventure” in his professional life and is expected to sign with Ipswich, who moved to acquire him before Trabzonspor.

Does John Lundstram deserve a new contract from the Rangers?

It’s safe to conclude that Lundstram has been the team’s best midfield player since Clement replaced Michael Beale early in the season.

Given his expertise and significance to the team, it is understandable that Clement wants to keep him at the club despite the fact that his contract is about to expire in the summer. However, opinions among supporters are divided.

The former midfielder for Sheffield United has frequently struggled with consistency and has almost never been able to make an impact against Celtic or in Europe’s biggest games.

It wouldn’t necessarily be a terrible thing if the manager wants him to stay, but it would be a major blow to the summer plans if he left.

If he leaves, the team will be able to transfer his salary to younger players who better match the manager’s vision. It’s unfortunate that the board failed to secure a fee for him, but Rangers are in a dire situation once more as a result of their own bad planning.
