A five-run inning propelled the Texas Rangers to victory over the Kansas City Royals.

Marcus Semien’s three-run double during a five-run sixth inning helped the Texas Rangers secure a 6-2 win over the Kansas City Royals on Friday night in Arlington, Texas. Nathaniel Lowe contributed with three hits, including a double and a run scored, while Wyatt Langford added two hits, a double, and two RBIs. Jonah Heim walked three times, adding an RBI and a run as Texas claimed their second consecutive victory to start the three-game series.

 

Nathan Eovaldi (4-3) earned the win, giving up two runs on four hits over six innings, with one walk and six strikeouts. Kansas City’s Kyle Isbel homered, and MJ Melendez doubled and scored a run. John Schreiber (3-2) took the loss, allowing three runs on three hits in one-third of an inning.

 

Eovaldi retired the first eight batters he faced until Isbel’s home run in the third gave the Royals a 1-0 lead. The Rangers tied it in the fourth on Langford’s RBI double. Kansas City regained a 2-1 lead in the fifth when Melendez doubled and scored on a Garrett Hampson single.

 

In the sixth, Texas took control. Adolis Garcia singled, Lowe doubled, and Langford’s RBI single tied the game. Heim’s fielder’s choice gave Texas a 3-2 lead. After loading the bases, Semien’s double extended the lead to 6-2, sealing the victory.
