DURHAM—The ACC announced on Tuesday that Duke has nine players selected for the 79-member 2024 All-ACC Academic Men’s Tennis team. For the fourth season in a row, graduate student Andrew Zhang was recognised, while Faris Khan and Connor Krug each won recognition for the third time in their professional lives. Additionally, five student-athletes from the Blue Devils were recognised for the second time: Teddy Truwit, Pedro Rodenas, Jake Krug, Michael Heller, and Garrett Johns. In addition, rookie Alexander Visser was recognised for the first time as Academic All-ACC. With nine honorees, Duke led the league and it was the third year in a row that the Blue Devils had more than six student-athletes selected to the squad.
Duke had eight selections, followed by Clemson (7), Notre Dame (7), Virginia Tech (7), Georgia Tech (6), Louisville (5), Wake Forest (5), North Carolina (5), Miami (4), and Florida State (3). Boston College and Virginia came behind with eight selections. Student-athletes must have a 3.0 grade point average from the preceding semester and a 3.0 cumulative average from their academic career in order to be eligible for consideration. Student-athletes are also required to participate in at least half of their team’s games.
