Aston Villa transfer wavering as Douglas Luiz mega-deal is “blocked”

Some Aston Villa fans may be delighted to hear this news. According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the massive deal that would have brought Douglas Luiz to Juventus is reportedly “blocked.” Along with a payment of about €20 million, the Turin team was expected to sign the Brazilian and send Weston McKennie and Samuel Illing-Junior to Aston Villa.

Since Luiz has made it apparent for some time that he wants to go, his contract with Juventus isn’t seen to be a problem. But this week, a report surfaced in Italy claiming McKennie was at odds with someone about a potential payment from the Serie A team. Now that Di Marzio has reported it, the problem appears to be more serious. According to the Italian journalist, personal terms or commissions payable in the transfer have not been agreed upon by the US international and Aston Villa. Because of this, the entire move is presently banned. Although the parties concerned are still trying to find a solution, it is undoubtedly in a shaky state right now.
