Inter Milan and Genoa are moving closer to finalizing an agreement for a Spain international.

Inter Milan and Genoa are edging closer to reaching an agreement for goalkeeper Josep Martinez.

According to today’s edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, as reported by FCInterNews, Inter Milan is closing in on a deal for Genoa goalkeeper Josep Martinez. The deal is expected to include €12 million in cash plus a player going to Genoa.

Martinez has emerged as Inter’s primary target for the goalkeeper position, with negotiations ongoing despite interest in other goalkeeping options such as Bento from Athletico Paranaense, Maduka Okoye from Udinese, Christos Mandas from Lazio, and Filip Jorgensen from Villarreal.

Initially, Genoa had set an asking price of €18 million for Martinez, but Inter has managed to negotiate the fee down to approximately €10 million plus €2 million in potential add-ons. Additionally, a player exchange is part of the agreement, with options including striker Martin Satriano, who has attracted interest from clubs like Stuttgart and Valencia, as well as Inter’s youth product, wingback Mattia Zanotti, who is also on Genoa’s radar.
