Sheffield United poised to sign Nottingham Forest player after making an approach.

Evangelos Marinakis will likely welcome offers for fringe players at Nottingham Forest, as Sky Sports reports that sales are necessary before June 30th to comply with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).

Sky Sports—and other outlets—don’t specify the exact amount needed, with Sky Sports referring to it as a “magic number.”

However, a potential £4m boost could be on the horizon for Nottingham Forest after Sheffield United made an approach…

Sheffield United Move to Sign Joe Worrall
Football Insider reports that Sheffield United have made a move to sign Joe Worrall.

The 27-year-old defender made seven Premier League appearances last season before being dropped by Steve Cooper. Worrall was loaned to Besiktas in January for the rest of the 2023/24 season and has now been told he can leave this summer as Nuno Espirito Santo considers him surplus to requirements.

Football Insider suggests that Worrall is likely to leave the City Ground on a permanent basis soon, though the value of Sheffield United’s bid is undisclosed.

 Nottingham Forest’s Valuation of Worrall
Despite being just 27 and having captained Nottingham Forest to promotion with 168 Championship appearances, the club is asking only £4m for Worrall, according to Alan Nixon of The Sun. Nottingham Forest seems eager to raise funds, with many fringe players still on their roster during a crucial sales period.

One player thought to have been released apparently still has a contract, highlighting the urgency. Hopefully, Sheffield United won’t negotiate too aggressively and can provide Nottingham Forest with a £4m boost before June 30th.
