Ullmark’s season had its highs and lows.
After Jeremy Swayman took over the goaltending duties for most of Boston’s Stanley Cup playoff run, Linus Ullmark finally spoke out two days following the end of the season. Addressing the media on Sunday, the 2023 Vezina Trophy winner touched upon several subjects, including his limited appearance in the postseason, having played only one game. Additionally, he was prompted to discuss his future with the Bruins.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding his future, Ullmark affirmed his commitment to the team, stating, “My future here? I have one more year.” Expressing enthusiasm for what lies ahead, he conveyed his eagerness for the upcoming summer, fueled by a mix of motivation, determination, and the anticipation of what the future holds.
While Ullmark still has a year remaining on his contract with the Bruins, speculation about his future intensified during the NHL trade deadline in March. Admitting the challenge of dealing with trade rumors, particularly as it was a novel experience for him, the 30-year-old goaltender acknowledged that such speculation was beyond his control. Nevertheless, his primary focus remains on preparing for a successful 2024-25 season ahead.
