According to Give Me Sport, Wolverhampton Wanderers are interested in signing Chelsea forward Armando Broja.
Wolverhampton Wanderers are eager to bolster their striker options this summer, driven by potential interest in Matheus Cunha. Southampton’s Che Adams is already on their radar, and with his contract at St Mary’s expiring soon, Wolves might have a good chance of signing him. The Saints may hope for Premier League promotion to retain Adams, but a return to the Midlands could be appealing to the 27-year-old. Gary O’Neil’s side seems poised to secure Adams, a boost for the former AFC Bournemouth boss.
Regardless of Adams’ signing, Wolves plan to target the forward position, possibly pursuing Chelsea’s Armando Broja in the coming months. Broja, 22, has played for both Chelsea and Fulham (on loan) this season, with 27 appearances, 2 goals, and 1 assist across all competitions. Despite struggling post-knee injury, Broja previously impressed at Vitesse and Southampton. If not in Mauricio Pochettino’s plans, a sale might be imminent as Chelsea could look to balance their books.
According to Give Me Sport, Wolves are now competing with Ipswich Town and Brentford for Broja, with Borussia Dortmund also showing interest. Broja’s price tag is around £35m, but Wolves are currently unwilling to pay that amount. Ipswich Town, recently promoted, might be better positioned but face stiff competition and financial constraints.
Ipswich, needing to address several areas, can’t afford to spend £35m on a single player. They require depth in full-back and center-back positions, midfield reinforcements after Lewis Travis’s departure, and a longer-term replacement for Omari Hutchinson, who had a standout 2023/24 season. While the striker position is crucial, such a significant investment isn’t viable given the broader needs at Portman Road this summer.
