Texas secures defensive line boost by recruiting Jermayne Lole from Oklahoma.

Texas has bolstered its defensive line with the acquisition of former Louisville player Jermayne Lole, who announced his commitment switch from Oklahoma to the Longhorns on social media.

With seven seasons of college football experience under his belt, Lole began his career at Arizona State in 2018, tallying 23 games over two seasons before transferring to Louisville.

Despite missing the 2021 season due to injury, Lole returned to the field in 2022, making 12 appearances and contributing 19 tackles and 1.5 sacks. His standout season came in 2019 at Arizona State, where he recorded 71 tackles, including 10 for loss, and 6.5 sacks.

Standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing 305 pounds, Lole’s addition to the Longhorns’ roster aims to address the team’s defensive line depth concerns, highlighted by head coach Steve Sarkisian following the spring game.

Sarkisian emphasized the need for more size and numbers in the defensive front, a sentiment echoed by the addition of Lole alongside other transfers and recruits.

Alongside transfers like Bill Norton and Tiaoalii Savea, as well as incoming recruits, Lole’s arrival contributes to Texas’ efforts to strengthen their defensive line, complementing key returning players like defensive tackle Alfred Collins.
