Perfect free agency landing spot for former Browns RB Kareem Hunt

In his hometown, Kareem Hunt was a five-year fan favorite. After being released by Kansas City for his actions off the field, Hunt was signed by the Cleveland Browns and made the most of his second opportunity.

Hunt, who is mostly Nick Chubb’s backup, gained 2,285 yards rushing and another 1,057 via the air. In the regular season, he crossed the goal line thirty-two times; in the playoffs, he did so five more times. that amounted to two in their Houston Texans defeat.

Even if the numbers appear good generally, Hunt seemed to have lost some ground in the last year or so. Even though he only managed an average of 3.0 yards each try, he was a useful weapon for short yards. Along with nine rushing touchdowns, the seasoned player had 38 first-down conversions.

Because of his output, he may still have a chance to play in the NFL, and according to Joseph Zucker of Bleacher Report, the New York Giants would be the ideal place for him to end up.

Saquon Barkley left New York in free agency, so Devin Singletary will take his place. Zucker notes that there might not be sufficient firepower to take Barkley’s place.

Despite rushing for more than 800 yards in each of the last three seasons, Devin Singletary cannot replace Saquon Barkley on a par. As a rookie, Eric Gray totaled 23 touches. A fifth-round pick in 2024, Tyrone Tracy Jr. only started playing running back full-time in 2023. Hunt would be a good fit as New York’s backup, even if Singletary, who just signed a three-year, $16.5 million contract, is unquestionably the best player.

Finally, a new home may be found for veteran running backs.

The majority of the unsigned free agents have signed contracts, although a few running backs are still unsigned. After the tournament, teams started to fall like dominoes, waiting to see how the draft played out.

The first was Ezekiel Elliott, who left the New England Patriots in 2023 and signed with the Dallas Cowboys. Players like Dalvin Cook and Hunter, who are still waiting for their next opportunity, may benefit from his signing.
