Adam Armstrong is the season’s MVP for Southampton.

Adam Armstrong of the SAINTS has been selected both the players’ and fans’ player of the year.This season, in 45 Championship games, Armstrong has scored 20 goals and supplied 13 assists, more than any other player in the division.

 

The 27-year-old was given his accolades on the St. Mary’s field following Southampton’s heartbreaking 1-0 loss to Stoke City.

 

Armstrong stated, “We need to settle down and get ready for the playoffs,” to the fans who stuck around for the post-match honors in the rain.

“It’s been a great season; we played 25 games without losing, which is incredible. We’ve placed ourselves in a really favorable situation.

Though it is what it is, we could have finished in the top two. We need to keep going forward and get ready for the postseason.

 

This season has been incredible; I couldn’t have accomplished anything without my teammates, who have enabled me to record as many goals and assists as I am capable of.

 

“We came into the Leeds game at home fresh off four losses, so it sticks out as a crucial occasion.

 

“Our situation is fantastic. Every game will be taken as it comes. Let’s travel to Wembley and then return to the Premier League.
