James Tavernier, the Rangers captain, got a lesson from Jordan Henderson regarding the Saudi “discussion to be had.”

James Tavernier, the captain of the Rangers, has been forewarned by Derek Ferguson to take a lesson from Jordan Henderson’s Saudi Pro League gaffe.

This summer, Steven Gerrard is keeping an eye on Tavernier and Connor Goldson as he attempts to lead the Ibrox mainstays to Al-Ettifaq. Since the arrival of the Liverpool legend, the cash-rich club has shelled heavily on bringing players like Gini Wijnaldum, Demarai Gray, Jack Hendry, and Moussa Dembele to the Middle East. A raid of the Scottish Premiership team may start another summer of spending.

However, Ferguson believes that Tavernier and Goldson are already showing warning signals following England international Henderson’s terrible stint in Saudi Arabia after Gerrard brought him in from Anfield last summer. Six months after signing a contract with Ajax, the seasoned midfielder left Ettifaq after struggling to adjust and headed back to Europe.

Ferguson also believes that there can be parallels between the possible transfer for the captain of Ibrox. But he acknowledges that Rangers will have to take a serious offer into consideration if a high-ball deal is made for the right-back.

“I think he still has a couple of years left on his contract,” he said to Open Goal. Thus, a conversation will need to be had. He is nearing the conclusion of his career, and we don’t know his financial status, but if it’s good for Rangers as well and they bring in a few quid, he will be taken care of.

In terms of family, we also don’t know; large Henderson went, didn’t like it, and returned. The problem is that money can have a significant impact on his family and not only on him. Thus, that explains your actions.
