Rivals are something the National Football League (NFL) loves, but this season might be different.
In an unscripted interview for the “Green Light” podcast, Montez Sweat elevated the NFL’s well-known rivalry.
Sweat surprised the sports world by announcing a personal war on Green Bay.
The Bears’ Sweat, a highly regarded edge rusher, has sent a clear message to the defending Packers.
“I’m letting you know right now, man, I’m not losing to Green Bay this year,” Sweat declared without being asked. “Man, I really can’t do this. Green Bay is not going to defeat me this year. There, we’ve sparked a fierce rivalry.
He asserted that the rivalry is only heightened by his friendship with multiple Packers players, Rashan Gary being one of them.
In Week 18, Sweat lost against Jordan Love and the Packers 17–9 to start his NFL career in the Windy City. Currently leading by ten games, Green Bay has the advantage.
Green Bay has dominated the field between these two NFL powers, winning 17 of the last 20 games and controlling 22 of the last 26 meetings with the Bears.
