Barcelona, Newcastle Receive Boost: Expert Advises PSG to Avoid €25M Nottingham Forest Star

It is reported that Paris Saint-Germain will be looking to add a center back this summer. Everyone is waiting to see if the Parisians can sign Leny Yoro from LOSC Lille, but they have fierce competition. But according to one analyst, the Parisians must maintain their current level and aim for class-A goals.

PSG was identified a few days ago as one of the teams interested in Nottingham Forest defender Murillo. The report claims that Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Newcastle, and Barcelona are interested in the 21-year-old.

The Brazilian signed a contract with Forest this summer, but if the Reds lose this season, they might be demoted, which means Murillo might be transferred for a profit. The former Corinthians star’s transfer value is estimated by Transfermarkt at €25 million, but Jonathan Johnson of CBS Sports thinks PSG should pass even with a very low price tag.

Signing 'millionaire': The Barça already knows the available price of Murillo“To be honest, I don’t think PSG needs to be searching for possible backup options at this point, especially considering the possibility that they won’t have Kylian Mbappé after this season ends,” Johnson stated to PSG Talk.

“I don’t think any of the targets that PSG pursues should be considered plan B territory anymore, given the budgetary constraints that Mbappé’s departure would lift from PSG.”

It will be intriguing to see if PSG can sign Yoro this summer or if they choose to concentrate on a player who they think has the same potential to develop into a world-class center-back as the young kid from Lille.
