MILAN: Pulisic ‘loving’ it in Italy, nearly ready to interview in Italian, Pobega set to return from injury much sooner

Both on and off the field, it sounds like Christian Pulisic is settling into Italian culture nicely.

With twelve goals in his debut season with AC Milan, Pulisic has already surpassed his career high. The standout player for the United States national team had scored goals in four straight games going into the international break.

After spending five years in London with Chelsea, Pulisic stated he’s loving life in Italy while still looking like one of the season’s biggest additions in Serie A.

“I’m enjoying it a lot,” Pulisic told reporters ahead of the USMNT’s Nations League semifinal against Jamaica. “It’s been a good change of pace for me. I’m loving the Italian culture. I’m trying to soak it all in. I’m doing the best I can to learn the language so I feel pretty good with all that stuff and I’m just loving it so far.”

Though he’s been in Italy for around nine months, Pulisic seems to be picking up a new language rather quickly.

“I understand about everything,” he said. “[Milan] asked me if I could do my interview in Italian the other day and I was like, ‘Yeah you can ask the questions [in Italian] and I’ll answer in English but next time.’ I’m getting close but still not fluent.”

Pobega set to return from injury much sooner than anticipated

Tommaso Pobega, a midfielder for AC Milan, is moving closer to recovering from an injury far faster than anticipated.

The Italian midfielder will shortly resume training, as reported by Pianeta Milan, indicating a potential return to action.

Pobega hasn’t played since Milan’s 3-0 victory against Monza on December 17. He was in danger of playing very little more of the season due to a very significant tendon injury that eventually necessitated surgery.

Pobega will likely need four months to recover from that surgery, but he should resume group exercise the following week. Stefano Pioli will be relieved since having an additional midfield option would be very helpful when it comes to managing the Europa League fixtures and the rest of the Serie A campaign.

In order to catch up as soon as possible, he will play with the Primavera group and practice with the first team simultaneously.

It will be too soon to play Fiorentina following the international break, but he might be available to play against Lecce on April 6. That means Pobega has ten games left to help the team, which includes the Europa League legs against AS Roma.
