Following Ange Postecoglou’s remarks, Leeds United received a potential transfer boost for Joe Rodon.

Wales international Joe Rodon has flourished since leaving Tottenham on a season-long loan to Leeds United, where he has been instrumental in their Championship promotion push.

Getting promoted to the Premier League may be a must for Leeds United’s ambitions of permanently signing Joe Rodon. Following his summer transfer window arrival from Tottenham on a season-long loan, the Wales international has been a standout player.

As the Whites have allowed only three league goals this year, Rodon has been a key member of their title defense, creating a solid relationship with Ethan Amapdu at the center of their rearguard. Alongside Pascal Struijik, he performed admirably during the season’s first half.

Rodon’s 26-year-old status doesn’t seem to be in Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou’s long-term plans, despite some supporters’ calls for United to sign him on a full-time basis. When the transfer window reopens this summer, Postecoglou has expressed his intention to add a new center back to the team.

Three Millwall players are out of the match against Leeds United while the Lions await a defender.

With Cristian Romero, Micky van De Ven, and Radu Dragusin on their roster, Spurs are already well-stocked at center back. Ben Davies and Emerson Royal, two full-backs, have also filled in there this season. The Premier League team has high admiration for Ashley Phillips, a promising young player who is now on loan at Plymouth Argyle.

Postecoglou told our sister title Football London: “If you’re saying ‘is it (defence) an area we can strengthen?’ With all these things it’s about trying to strengthen the group as much as anything else. If you think about when I first arrived, we had maybe six or seven centre-backs at the club.

“So it’s not just numbers. It’s more about the ability of those players to play the football we want and to fit in to what we’re trying to build here.

“I think it is an area of the park we will look to strengthen, but I think we’ll look to strengthen all areas of the park come the end of the season. That’s planning that’s already underway, and other people are in charge of it at the moment.”
