Details Of Diontae Johnson Trade Are Revealed By An Insider

The Pittsburgh Steelers are in the market this week, and when the 2024 campaign commences, they will have a slightly different appearance.

They acquired Pro Bowl linebacker Patrick Queen from the Baltimore Ravens and signed veteran quarterback Russell Wilson, a nine-time Pro Bowler and past Super Bowl champion.

Additionally, it’s rumored that the Steelers are sending wide receiver Diontae Johnson to the Carolina Panthers in exchange for a draft pick and cornerback Donte Jackson.

According to a tweet by Adam Schefter, Johnson is owed a $3 million roster bonus on Friday, which the Panthers will now have to pay.

In 2023, Johnson tied George Pickens for the team lead in receiving touchdowns with five, and he finished second on the Steelers with 717 receiving yards.

Nevertheless, there were whispers that he will be traded during the season since he appeared dissatisfied at times.

He will provide some assistance going forward for quarterback Bryce Young, who had a difficult debut campaign in 2023.

Jackson will provide the Steelers with a valuable depth addition to their secondary in the interim.
During his six NFL seasons, he has played for Carolina, totaling 46 interceptions, 15 tackles for loss, and 46 passes defended.

Pittsburgh’s defense was already good in 2023, as evidenced by their 10 game winning streak and postseason appearance, but Jackson and Queen might make that aspect of their game even stronger.

Fans should legitimately expect the club to at least fight for a postseason position, even though Steelers Nation shouldn’t plan on attending the Super Bowl because the team plays in the NFL’s hardest division.
