Mavs’ Luka Doncic admits Nikola Jokic is the best, as All-Star Weekend Bromance Continues

Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks has been attending NBA All-Star Weekend every season for the past five years, and that’s at least one thing you can count on. He will have a blast with Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets, one of his closest pals in the league. The two stars had another enjoyable and amusing moment on Saturday when Jokic snuck up on Doncic during his All-Star news conference and drenched his hoodie in water.

“I think everybody knew him before [the MVPs and NBA Finals],” Doncic said of Jokic earlier this season when the Mavs played the Nuggets. “He’s not really on the media stuff a lot, but all the players, all the coaches know how special he is. Everybody knows how special he is. … He’s right now, probably the best basketball player in the world. “Of course, he’s an amazing basketball player, but he’s a great guy. That’s what I love the most about him. Just always joking around. He’s just a simple and very amazing man.”

Though the Nuggets are the reigning NBA champions hoping for a repeat, and the revamped Mavs are hoping to contend for a championship of their own, it may be some time before the two buddies consider being teammates. Even though Doncic and Jokic have a great friendship, they may need to set it aside during the playoffs because they might have to play each other in order to win a title.
