Luke O’Nien, the captain of Sunderland, believes that everyone should be proud of the direction the team is taking, but he is aware of their “job.”
According to Luke O’Nien, the Sunderland players’ responsibility is to advance, and they will not give up until they “get it right.”
Sunderland is once again in the running for play-off spots after an unlucky loss to eventual winners Luton Town in last year’s play-off semi-finals. O’Nien, who has played a pivotal role in all but one of the team’s Championship games this season, has excelled at center back.
With his role in Sunderland’s 2021/22 League One promotion, which will be featured in the upcoming third season of Sunderland Til I Die, he has already experienced the thrill of accomplishing a promotion objective. O’Nien asserts that everyone understands that the real goal is to go back into the Premier League, but he also thinks we should be proud of the club’s current accomplishments.

“I think the club is in a great space,” O’Nien told Sunderland Nation. “I didn’t see it at the heights that it has been, but where it is now, I think it’s just as great because we have the same numbers, we have 40 plus thousand [fans in the ground].
