In exchange for pitching prospect Christian Zazueta Jr. and lefty reliever Matt Gage, Ferguson was moved to New York.
From 2018 until 2023, Ferguson was a member of the Dodgers. He pitched in 207.1 innings in 201 games over those five seasons, going 18-9 with a 3.43 ERA, 247 strikeouts, and a 1.29 WHIP (he missed 2021 due to Tommy John surgery).

In the Yankees’ bullpen, Ferguson will partner with fellow former Dodger Victor Gonzalez as left-handed relievers.

Ferguson played for the Dodgers, who won the 2020 World Series. Despite missing the 2020 campaign, he has been outstanding in the postseason, pitching 5.1 innings in eight scoreless outings in 2018 and 2023.

The Dodgers will visit Yankee Stadium with Ferguson and the Yankees from June 7–9 for a reunion between the two teams.
