Another Forest striker heading for Turkey league after Joe Worrall’s Besiktas move

Hwang Ui-jo, a striker for Nottingham Forest, is expected to sign with Alanyaspor in Turkey after Joe Worrall joined Besiktas.

Hwang Ui-jo is expected to transfer to Alanyaspor from Nottingham Forest.

Well, it would appear as though the talisman is going to end his Forest hell and move out on loan to Turkey this week.

Since leaving Bordeaux to join Forest in the summer of 2022, Hwang has been on loan to Olympiacos, FC Seoul, and Norwich.

Despite having only had modest success on his loans away from the City Ground, the player has always seemed like an intriguing signing.

He signed with Norwich earlier this season, but after suffering a hamstring injury, he was sent back despite scoring three goals.

The Athletic now reports that Hwang will be joining Alanyaspor, where he will aim to have a respectable campaign in the second half of the season.

Despite his hamstring issue being resolved, Hwang briefly appeared to be considering a return to Norwich from Forest.

Nuno Espirito Santo doesn’t fancy Hwang

It is clear why Forest wanted another striker after considering signing Chuba Akpom on the day of the transfer deadline.

With Chris Wood recovering from a hamstring injury, Taiwo Awoniyi is the only centre forward who is available and healthy.

As a result, it’s perhaps curious and emphatic at the same time that Espirito Santo doesn’t fancy Hwang to make an impact at Forest.

If that is the case, Forest would be well to remove Hwang from the books, and ideally this deal would include a buyout option.
