Aston Villa set to sign ‘outstanding’ talent Lino Sousa from Arsenal
Aston Villa is on the verge of signing the highly regarded talent, Lino Sousa, from Arsenal, and Villans fans have reasons to be excited about his potential inclusion in the squad starting next season. Despite this, some Arsenal fans on social media have expressed disappointment at Sousa’s sale, considering him a top talent with a promising future. Sousa, initially signed by Arsenal from West Bromwich Albion in 2022, was even labeled as “Jordi Alba 2.0” by The Sun at the time of his arrival.
Lino Sousa has been likened to Barcelona’s former top left-back, Jordi Alba, with claims that he shares a similar playing style. According to The Athletic, individuals at West Brom considered Sousa to be ‘outstanding’ and among the best in the country for his age group. Since joining Arsenal, Sousa swiftly made an impact at the youth level, amassing 52 appearances for the Gunners’ Under-18s and Under-21s. In the current season, Sousa has made 14 appearances for Arsenal’s youth teams, scoring three goals in the process. Described as a highly talented left-back effective in both defensive and attacking aspects, Sousa’s progress at Arsenal has been impressive, indicating a promising future. His move to Aston Villa is anticipated to bring excitement, particularly as he embarks on his current season loan at Plymouth before joining the claret-and-blue squad next term.
