Newcastle United are looking to bolster their attack after struggling in front of goal this season, according to reports. With just 13 goals in the Premier League, the Magpies have the fourth-lowest total in the league. After losing 2-0 to struggling West Ham on Monday, they’ve failed to score in three of their last six matches.
Following the defeat, manager Eddie Howe acknowledged the team’s goal-scoring issues, admitting that it’s a major concern. He emphasized the need for more confidence and fluidity in attack to address the problem.
To remedy this, Newcastle are reportedly eyeing Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo as a potential target. The 24-year-old winger has impressed this season with four goals in 12 appearances. Though Newcastle are keen to sign him in January, a move would depend on player departures from the club.
Liverpool are also monitoring Semenyo, who has become one of Bournemouth’s standout players since joining from Bristol City in 2023. Semenyo’s development has been noted by his teammates, with midfielder Lewis Cook praising his improvement, especially in terms of his work rate and aggression.
