“Daniil Medvedev Vows to Find Way to Beat Jannik Sinner After Disappointing 2024 Season”
Daniil Medvedev has expressed his determination to find a way to beat Jannik Sinner after a disappointing 2024 season. Despite finishing the year with an impressive 46-21 match win record, Medvedev suffered five out of six losses to the Italian star.
Medvedev’s struggles against Sinner were a major hurdle in his quest for success in 2024. The Russian reached the final at the Australian Open and Indian Wells but was unable to capture the trophy, falling to Sinner in Melbourne.
The former US Open champion has admitted that he needs to find a way to beat Sinner, who dominated their head-to-head rivalry in 2024. “I need to try to find a way to beat Jannik Sinner again,” Medvedev said in an interview with Kommersant.
Medvedev has been working with former French player Gilles Simon, who joined his coaching team less than a year ago. The 28-year-old plans to spend more time with Simon during the off-season, trying to figure out how to get past Sinner.
Medvedev’s first opportunity to seek revenge against Sinner could be at the 2025 Australian Open in January. The Russian has not entered any events prior to the Australian Open, and a potential rematch with Sinner in Melbourne could be a thrilling encounter to kick off the new season.
