Armando Broja and Dwight McNeil have intensified their training over the international break after recovering from injuries.
Everton are set to return from the international break with some positive news on the injury front. Armando Broja, who joined from Chelsea on deadline day, has stepped up his first-team training as he continues his recovery from an Achilles injury.
Similarly, Dwight McNeil, who missed the trip to West Ham due to a knee issue, has been involved in training sessions at Finch Farm, signaling his progress towards full fitness.
Injuries have been a challenge for Sean Dyche this season, and concerns remain heading into the Brentford match, especially regarding the fitness of Jarrad Branthwaite. The centre-back has had a difficult run, recovering from groin surgery over the summer, only to suffer a quad issue after playing 90 minutes against Crystal Palace. Dyche admitted Branthwaite may have returned too soon and has since been cautious with his recovery. After pulling out of international duty with a minor groin injury, the club described his return as precautionary.
Seamus Coleman also had to withdraw from international duty due to a hamstring issue, further adding to Dyche’s injury woes. However, there’s optimism for the future, as McNeil seems to have overcome his knee concerns, and Broja is progressing toward his competitive debut. Dyche indicated that while Broja won’t feature in a behind-closed-doors friendly during the break, he is now stepping up his training. Broja could first play for the U21s, with Youssef Chermiti also close to returning from a serious foot injury. Meanwhile, James Garner (back) and Tim Iroegbunam (foot) remain sidelined for the longer term.
