Breakng News: Samu Omorodion and Junior Firpo impressed by Leeds United star on international duty

Usually, the international break is pretty much disliked by supporters, but if you are Leeds United, then you are probably glad it came along when it did.

Illan Meslier’s howler against Sunderland is still probably ringing in everyone’s head and this mini-break will help settle everything down.

When Leeds return to action, it’s the small matter of locking horns with Sheffield United on Friday night in a Yorkshire derby.

Given that the game will be at Elland Road, nothing but three points is expected here, especially with second-placed Sheffield United already three points ahead of fifth-placed Leeds.

The great thing is that a few players are enjoying themselves on national duty and it will be putting a smile on the face of Daniel Farke.

The one who has impressed the most so far is upcoming and thriving Leeds striker Mateo Joseph, who netted a hat-trick for Spain U21s, after switching his allegiances to the nation and being handed his first start.

Not only did Joseph bag three goals, but he did it all in the first half, as the Spain youngsters recorded a 4-3 win over Kazakhstan.

Rightfully so, Joseph was lauded and applauded for his performance after expressing his delight on Instagram.

The 20-year-old posted that he is ‘very happy’ to net a hat-trick as he urged the team to ‘go for more’.

Largie Ramazani told his fellow teammate in the comments section of his IG post: ‘Dazz my boy’, with Bournemouth centre-back Dean Huijsen sending heart eyes emojis to the player.

Porto star Samu Omorodion wrote ‘My brother’, added with fire emojis, in regards to his performance and Junior Firpo called the young gun ‘Goalscorer’, and also included fire emojis.

Spanish youngster Yeray Cabanzon told his international teammate ‘your thing is crazy’ and Diogo Monteiro labelled Joseph as ‘ace’.

Mateo Joseph sending a reminder to Daniel Farke

As mentioned above, Leeds face Sheffield United next and this hat-trick from Joseph just sends out a reminder to his manager.

Joel Piroe deserves to keep his place in the Leeds XI after scoring at the Stadium of Light after a very strong team performance.

Yes, that Meslier mistake made the headlines and understandably so, but the team’s all-round performance against a team sitting top of the league shouldn’t be forgotten about.

You are probably asking for more of the same, just minus the gifts to the opposition!
