Nigeria’s U20 team, the Flying Eagles, is set to relocate to Ikenne in Ogun State for a crucial final camping program ahead of their participation in the upcoming WAFU B U20 Championship in Togo. This move comes as the team gears up for the tournament, aiming to enhance their preparations.
The 2023 FIFA World Cup quarter-finalists will spend a week training at the well-equipped Remo Sports Institute before heading to Lomé. There, they will compete in Group B alongside Burkina Faso and Côte d’Ivoire, seeking to defend the title they claimed in Niger two years ago.
In the tournament’s Group A, host nation Togo will face off against Ghana, Benin Republic, and Niger Republic. The championship is scheduled to take place from October 17 to 31. Additionally, the event will serve as the qualifying tournament for the Africa U20 Cup of Nations, with the top four teams earning a spot to represent Africa at the FIFA U20 World Cup finals in Chile next year.
