The 2023 season for the Green Bay Packers has already been incredibly successful. The Packers appear to have discovered their franchise quarterback and have a young core of reliable offensive weapons surrounding him, regardless of whether they defeat the San Francisco 49ers in the Divisional round of the playoffs.
The Packers appear to be making headway, as reports from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport indicate that Jordan Love is expected to sign a contract extension following the team’s resounding victory against the Dallas Cowboys in the NFC wild-card game. When all is said and done, he is projected to be among the top paid quarterbacks in the league:

Jordan Love is expected to sign an extension after the NFC wild-card round demolition of the Dallas Cowboys in a rout, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. When all is said and done, he is projected to be among the top paid quarterbacks in the league:
“Jordan Love seems to be the quarterback for the Packers,” Rapoport stated prior to Sunday’s game in a video that was uploaded on X. Prior to this season, in May, he completed a Band-Aid deal for $22.5 million for a year.
“From what I understand, there will be a serious discussion about the possibility of a new deal between his representation and the Packers,” Rapoport stated. “Until May, nothing can be done, but don’t be shocked if he receives payment before then.
In his debut season as a starter, Love finished ninth among NFL quarterbacks with 64.2% accuracy for 4,159 yards, 32 touchdowns, and just 11 interceptions.
Love’s contract, which was one of the best deals in the NFL and will only contribute $12.7 million against the cap in 2023, has played a significant role in the Packers’ success. That might soon change, though.
Love would earn about $5.7 million the next season if there was no contract revision. But Love should anticipate rising to the position of one of the NFL’s highest paid quarterbacks following a successful 2023 campaign.
The Packers might have pulled it off once more, and now they might have a third franchise quarterback in a row.
