AC Milan failed to find new clubs for Divock Origi and Fodé Ballo-Touré in Saudi Arabia, Portugal, or the Netherlands, despite those leagues’ extended transfer windows. Now, their remaining options are limited to Turkey, Greece, or more exotic leagues, according to Calciomercato. Both players were excluded from Milan’s squad after returning from loan spells at Nottingham Forest and Fulham. Despite earlier announcements, they haven’t been training with Milan’s Futuro squad. Origi showed up at the training facility once this summer but has since been training individually in Florence. Ballo-Touré waited for the right opportunity to leave Milan, turning down a move to Saint-Etienne as he sought a Premier League return, but no offers came after his poor stint with Fulham.
Origi’s situation presents a bigger issue for Milan due to his €4.5M annual salary after joining from Liverpool in 2022. He scored only twice in 36 appearances for Milan and left the following year. His loan spell at Nottingham Forest was similarly disappointing, with just one goal in 22 games, leading Forest to decline their option to buy. With the Turkish transfer window still open for 10 more days, Milan hopes to find a solution, but there’s little momentum on this front.
