Nottingham Forest are keen to sign a new midfielder before the transfer window closes on August 30.
They have already had a busy summer, securing the likes of Nikolo Milenkovic, Elliot Anderson, Jota Silva, and Ramon Sosa. However, the Tricky Trees are expected to make more additions in the coming days to further strengthen their squad.
According to Calciomercato.com, Forest have made an official bid for Roma midfielder Edoardo Bove. The bid falls short of Roma’s £13 million valuation, and both clubs are currently in negotiations to reach an agreement.
Bove, a product of Roma’s academy, made his competitive debut in 2021 against Crotone. He has since become a key player for the team, making 92 appearances and scoring four goals in all competitions. Despite his contributions, Bove is not in Daniele De Rossi’s plans for the 2024-25 season and was an unused substitute in Roma’s first two Serie A matches.
Roma are open to selling the 22-year-old, and Nottingham Forest have shown the most interest in securing his services this summer. The club is also linked with Fulham midfielder Andreas Pereira, though a deal for the Brazilian may be difficult. Fulham, having already sold Joao Palhinha to Bayern Munich, are reluctant to lose another key player.
Forest have made a solid start to the new season, earning four points from their first two matches against Bournemouth and Southampton. They are set to face Newcastle United in an EFL Cup match at the City Ground on Wednesday.
