Stoke City unveil major plans for club badge redesign debate

Stoke City’s current badge, introduced in 2001, has received mixed reactions from supporters.

Stoke City is considering a potential change to their club badge and is exploring how to consult with supporters on the matter.

The current badge, a minimalist design adopted in 2001, replaced the city’s coat of arms, which had been used for the previous nine years. It appears on everything from team kits and merchandise to the stadium and training ground. However, the club is willing to revisit this if there is enough interest from fans.

Any proposed change would involve a comprehensive consultation process. If a new design were approved, its implementation would likely be gradual, starting with kits, digital platforms, and major outdoor assets to manage costs.

This discussion was initiated during the first meeting of Stoke City Connect, a fan panel created to engage regularly with the club’s leadership on key issues. A club statement highlighted that any potential changes to the crest would be phased and would require significant fan consultation. The panel will review proposed consultation methods at their next meeting.
