Liverpool are off to a winning start under Arne Slot after seeing off Ipswich Town today at Portman Road.
Goals from Mo Salah and Diogo Jota were enough for the Reds to cruise to what ended up being a very comfortable victory against the Premier League newcomers.
For Arne Slot, it was all about getting a win on the board and his players delivered.
Of course, there were moments of pressure from Ipswich and times when things looked a touch disjointed from the Reds.
However, in the main, it was a comfortable enough performance and one BBC pundit believes there’s a big difference between this Liverpool team and Jurgen Klopp’s.
Pundit spots big difference in Arne Slot’s new-look Liverpool
Speaking to the BBC about how Liverpool looked, Farah Williams suggested that this is a Liverpool team that now has more control in games than they did under Klopp.
“We have gone through that era of Jurgen Klopp and high intensity. I think they looked more controlled today,” Williams commented.
“When you inherit a team as good as he has with this Liverpool team, I’m not sure you need to make many additions.”
More to come from Liverpool
It was all about winning today for the Reds. And in the second half, they very much stepped it up.
Over the season, you’d imagine Liverpool will go on to improve further and get better and better.
Slot has clearly got his way of playing and as Williams mentions here, there was an element of controlling the game to their play.
Whether that works against slightly better opposition, though, remains to be seen.
