Exclusive: Fabrizio Romano’s statement to Sean Dyche on 28 July concerning signing a new full-back…

Alan Myers has admitted he is “pretty sure” Ricardo Rodriguez will be on the radar of Everton during the summer transfer window.

The Sky Sports journalist reported via X on Sunday (28 July) that the Toffees are likely to be keeping tabs on the free agent’s situation after he left Torino as a free agent at the end of last season.

However, Inter Milan have also understood to be very keen on securing the Switzerland international’ signature after he starred at Euro 2024 and if they make a push to sign him, he will almost certainly join the Italian giants.

Writing on X, Myers said: “Inter Milan are very interested in him, I think if they make it official, goes there.

“I’m pretty sure he will be on our radar.”

Will Everton sign Ricardo Rodriguez in the summer transfer window?

Everton need to bolster their defensive ranks between now and the start of the Premier League season because Sean Dyche is lacking some depth with the new campaign now only a matter of weeks away.

The Blues boss appears to be close to recruiting a new centre-back who could step into the fold in Jake O’Brien [Fabrizio Romano, 28 July] and once that deal is completed he simply has to pivot his focus to signing a new full-back as well.

Rodriguez may be 31, but he is still an excellent defender as he showed in Euro 2024. His experience having played for the likes of AC Milan, Wolfsburg and PSV would be an excellent addition to the Goodison Park changing room.

The deal is even more attractive now that the Swiss international is a free agent.

Although Everton have money to spend regardless of the current ownership situation, this deal would be relatively cheap to complete with no transfer fee required.

All the Blues have to do is try and get in there before Inter Milan come calling.
