Torino have officially completed the transfer of Scottish international striker Ché Adams on a free transfer. The 28-year-old was without a club after his Southampton contract ended last month but was in ongoing talks with the Granata over a potential switch to Turin. A statement on the club’s official website has confirmed the news:
“Torino Football Club is pleased to announce the signing of player Ché Adams. The striker has signed a contract until June 30, 2027.
Adams was born in Leicester, England, on July 13, 1996. He developed his football skills in the youth sectors of Coventry City, St Andrews, Oadby Town, and Ilkeston. In November 2014, he was acquired by Sheffield United, where he played two seasons in League One. In August 2016, he moved to Birmingham City: three Championship seasons with the Blues for a total of 123 appearances and 38 goals, including 22 in the 2018-19 season. In July 2019, he joined Southampton, making his Premier League debut on August 10, 2019, in the match against Burnley. With the Saints, between league and cup competitions, he made 191 appearances and scored 48 goals. In the last season, he significantly contributed to Southampton’s return to the Premier League and scored 17 goals in 46 matches.
Adams also has 33 appearances and 6 goals for Scotland, with whom he participated in the 2024 European Championship in Germany, playing in all three matches of his national team.
The entire Torino Football Club welcomes Ché Adams with a warm welcome: good work, Always Forza Toro!”
