Journalist updates on Amadou Onana transfer amid Arsenal, Aston Villa, and Tottenham interest

Arsenal, Aston Villa, and Tottenham Hotspur are among the clubs reportedly interested in Everton star Amadou Onana.

The Gunners pushed the Premier League title race to the final day of the 2023/24 season and are eager to go all the way next term. Meanwhile, Villa is preparing for a return to the Champions League and aims to strengthen their squad for the added workload. Spurs, under Ange Postecoglou, had a decent maiden campaign but are keen to secure a top-four finish next year.

All three clubs have received a boost in their pursuit of Everton star Amadou Onana, thanks to Belgian football journalist Sacha Tavolieri.

Tavolieri reports that Onana has rejected a three-year offer from Al-Ahli in the Saudi Pro League, opting to stay in the Premier League.

Arsenal, Villa, and Spurs will now fancy their chances of signing Onana. Arsenal is poised to offload Nuno Tavares and Albert Sambi Lokonga, freeing up spots and wages for new recruits. Villa has been busy, signing six players: Ian Maatsen, Cameron Archer, Samuel Iling-Junior, Lewis Dobbin, Enzo Barrenechea, and Ross Barkley. Tottenham has made one signing so far, bringing in Archie Gray from Leeds United.

All three clubs believe they have a strong chance of landing Onana, who has proven his ability to impress at the top level of the Premier League. Arsenal and Villa can offer Champions League football, while Tottenham is among the favorites to win the Europa League.
