Rangers scouts evaluated Motherwell’s Lennon Miller during his first pre-season match last weekend. Football Scotland reports that representatives from the Ibrox club were present at Fir Park to observe the playmaker. In this match, the Steelmen secured a 2-1 victory over Livingston, with the 17-year-old contributing to the second goal. Rangers are reportedly interested in Miller, who had an impressive breakout season last year, making 32 appearances across all competitions, excelling against Celtic, and scoring twice against Elgin and East Fife.
Rangers’ manager Philippe Clement has emphasized the need for a squad overhaul after releasing five players this summer. The club has already signed several new players for the upcoming season, including Clinton Nsiala, Hamza Igamane, Oscar Cortes, and Connor Barron. Additionally, Liam Kelly and left-back Jefte have joined the team. A potential acquisition of Miller aligns with the club’s strategy of recruiting young talents with the aim of developing and selling them for a profit in the future. Miller is currently under contract with Motherwell until 2026, following an extension he signed in November, which places Motherwell in a strong negotiating position should any official bids come in for the young midfielder.
