£3m Nottingham Forest summer target set to join the City Ground

Nottingham Forest are poised to make a £3m Brazilian their first summer signing.

The summer transfer window hasn’t officially opened yet, but a significant month awaits Nottingham Forest as they need to generate funds through player sales to comply with PSR rules. Forest have until June 30 to make these sales or face potential penalties for the new campaign.

Nuno Espirito Santo will be looking to owner Evangelos Marinakis to strengthen several areas of his squad. Despite a four-point deduction last season, Forest managed to secure their Premier League status only in the final game.

As they aim to improve from last season’s struggles, their first summer signing seems to be nearing completion.

Brazilian Ready to Play for Nottingham Forest

Although Forest might be forced into player sales this month, it doesn’t mean new players won’t arrive at the City Ground. Several players, including Matt Turner, are attracting interest from the MLS. Significant funds could be raised from the sale of key players like Murillo, who is valued at around £70m by the club.

Meanwhile, a former Corinthians teammate of Murillo may be on his way to Forest.

Reports from Brazil suggest that Corinthians goalkeeper Carlos Miguel is “ready to play” for Nottingham Forest.

The 25-year-old Brazilian has a €4m (£3m) release clause in his contract.

Miguel has played four league games this season for Corinthians, keeping two clean sheets.

Nottingham Forest Quickly Solving Their Goalkeeper Issues

Forest have struggled with consistency between the sticks this season, using three different goalkeepers: Odysseas Vlachodimos, Matt Turner, and Matz Sels. With Vlachodimos and Turner linked to moves away, addressing the goalkeeper position is a priority for Nuno.

Bringing in a new goalkeeper before pre-season would be beneficial, allowing the new signing ample time to integrate into the team.
